Robert John Dougall, aged 44, former Vice President of Market Development of DePuy International Limited ("DPI") of Leeds, appeared before District Judge Timothy Workman at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in response to a summons alleging conspiracy to corrupt, contrary to the Criminal Law Act 1977.
Robert John Dougall, aged 44, former Vice President of Market Development of DePuy International Limited ("DPI") of Leeds, appeared before District Judge Timothy Workman at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court in response to a summons alleging conspiracy to corrupt, contrary to the Criminal Law Act 1977.
The allegation concerns the practice of making corrupt payments and /or giving other inducements to medical professionals working in the Greek public healthcare system in relation to the supply of orthopaedic products between February 2002 and December 2005.
Matthew Cowie appearing for the Serious Fraud Office invited the court to send the case to the Crown Court pursuant to section 51 Crime & Disorder Act 1998. The Chief Magistrate, District Judge Workman sent the case to Southwark Crown Court.
Mr Dougall was represented by Mr Shaul Brazil of BCL Burton Copeland Solicitors.
Mr Dougall was given standard directions and granted unconditional bail.
As this is still an ongoing investigation, no further comment can be made.
