Stephen Harvey KC and Clerksroom Direct Ltd accused of fraudulent practices after stating and failing to make payments to promised disgruntled former client
Financial Fraudster News investigations has been shown email evidence that the Sara Robinson Trust majority owner of parent company FFN Media Group was the victim of dishonest practices of Stephen Harvey KC a leading barrister aided and abetted by Clerkroom Direct Ltd who aided and abetted the fraudulent conduct that resulted in an egregious breach of contract in which the dishonest barrister failed to attend a scheduled hearing Harvey offered to repay in full the £5900 stated in an email dated March 27th 2023. Harvey was paid to represent the Trust in a private prosecution hearing.
Mr Harvey KC has returned only £900 of the £5400 owed, the remainder is believed to have been shared with the Taunton based Clerksroom Direct Ltd who purportedly act as Harvey's clerk.
Financial Fraudster News investigations legal commentator, Ross James stated “If a King’s Counsel barrister is found to be misleading or acting dishonestly or in a manner which give rise to impropriety that’s a big problem!... if a client is promised a full refund in an email that is attributable to Counsel as alleged, Counsel is duly bound by his or her words it’s as simple as that…the consequence for his or her professional standards and reputation as simply unthinkable as they would leave themselves to civil action…”
A spokesperson for the US based Trust stated, “the Trust is extremely troubled by the unprofessionalism and impropriety shown by a leading Lawyer…a Lawyer is only good as his or her word”.
Financial Fraudster News investigations has seen email exchange stating in January 2023 between Clerksroom Direct Ltd led by Directors Harry Hodgkin, himself a barrister and Stephen Ward with agents acting for the Trust which astonishingly reveals how Clerksroom Direct Ltd, supposedly acting as Harvey's clerk were seen to be pushing for the Trust to appoint Harvey at a reduced rate that amounted to “horse trading” of Harvey's services.
A spokesperson for the Trust stated “Stassi Jennings [a Clerksroom Direct employee] attempted to sell Harvey's services at a reduced amount in excess of £3,000 in 72 hours for the instruction based on the case papers that had a very distasteful feel…days after receiving the payment, Harvey withdrew from the case days before the hearing…the very same case papers that prompted Harvey to withdraw as prosecuting Counsel was left in the hand of competent Junior Counsel who earned the Trust a full trial later this year.
The Trust firmly holds the belief that it has been scammed by Mr Harvey KC and Clerksroom Direct, the Trust will make the appropriate complaint to the Bar Council, the Solicitors Regulation Authority and civil or criminal action will be pursued to cover losses and to obtain justice”.
